This music video shows what it's like to be a child bride — or not.
An electronic music video with a serious twist? I'd click 'Play' on that.
Electronic music producer RL Grime teamed up with UNICEF to shine a crucial light on child marriage in a very unique way.
It's artistic, heartbreaking, and full of hope all at the same time. This isn't your average PSA. Check it out (it's so worth it!) and then scroll down for more of the backstory.

Is this real life?
Oh yeah, it's real. Almost 70% of girls in an entire country are married before they've finished (or even started) high school.
That percentage is so big that it puts Chad at #2 on the list of countries with the highest rates of child marriage in the world. Not a great list to be on.
When a girl gets married at such a young age, school becomes secondary to her duties as a wife, forcing many girls to abandon their education entirely. What's worse is that if she becomes pregnant before her young body is ready to bear a child (as so often happens), it puts her and the baby at extreme risk.
In fact, a girl in Chad is more likely to die in childbirth than attend high school.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Everyone deserves to lead a rich, fulfilling, and healthy life. Consider getting involved with some organizations at the forefront of this mission. Three of my favorites leading the way? UNICEF, Girls Not Brides, and CARE. You can also help raise awareness by sharing videos like this one!
