Mail carrier writes relatable song to dog owners that keep their dogs off leash
"I can't run that fast."
Mail carriers really don't get enough credit. They deliver mail no matter the weather: rain, snow, sleet, tropical storm, if it's not a federal holiday they're delivering mail. This means they face some extreme weather conditions as well as interesting animals and people.
Depending on the part of the country you live in, mail carriers either get out of their mail trucks and walk the neighborhood or they stay in their trucks and put the mail in the mailbox from their seat. For those that have to get out and walk because mailboxes are located physically on the house and not on the curb, loose dogs can be a bit of an issue.
It's one of the reasons they carry pepper spray, something I'll be forever grateful for after a couple of dogs jumped over a fence and tried to attack me. It was the mailman that ran to the rescue by using the spray on his keychain. Loose dogs are something postal carriers come into contact with often, not all of them friendly so when Ari B. shared her song about dogs, people related hard. Doesn't hurt that the song is set to an old school bop.

Ari is a mail carrier that rewrote the lyrics to Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" to encompass her views on people allowing their dogs to roam free unleashed. The woman is still in uniform inside of her mail truck while singing the revamped song. Ari has an amazing voice which makes you wonder if being a mail carrier is her final career because "America's Got Talent" could certainly be in her future.
The song starts, "your dog, it ain't on the leash so you ain't getting mail from me why you think that's cool? Then you telling me he don't bite while he drooling at the mouth like he wanna eat me."

Ari sings about telling the owner to take the dog inside because if the dog tries to attack her then she's going to spray the dog. That's when the hook comes in, "if I let this go, I'm spraying this whole bottle, I said this whole bottle. You need to be more responsible, plus I can't run that fast if he bite me I'm a sue your a**."
The entire song will have you wanting to sing along to commiserate with the mail carrier who has clearly run into unleashed dogs enough times to want to write an entire song about it. People in the comments couldn't get over her vocals wishing their mail carriers had that kind of talent, while someone suggested that this song should be the official mail carrier anthem.

"Yeah imma have a little chit chat with my mail lady because she not coming with these vocals when dropping off these bills lol," someone jokes.
"I’ve watched this too many times I know the rhythm and cadence singing it like it’s an actual song girl," another writes.
"Are you a huge star in another dimension?? Your voice is EVERYTHING! Like is there an album you have that I attempt singing along with," a commenter asks.

"Imma tell mail lady she need add a lil razzle dazzle like this when dropping off my bills," someone else laughs.
Thanks to Ari's vocal skills, people are now expecting a lot more than mail from their mail carriers. But all postal workers really want is for you to do what Ari says and keep your dogs inside or on a leash while the mail is being delivered. Their job is difficult enough without adding running from dogs or serenading the homes receiving mail. Ari is in a league of her own with those pipes so let's not expect this level of talent while having bills delivered.
